Idris Elba represented for the Brits at the 2012 Golden Globes ceremony.
The actor won the Best Performance by an Actor award for his lead role in the TV mini-series Luther. After the star-studded ceremony, which also saw fellow Brit Kate Winslet receive a gong, Elba told MTV that he was ‘feeling the love’ and was happy about the appreciation of a British show. ‘This is great. We made our little show in London, and now we’re getting worldwide recognition for it. Love it!’
The thirty-nine year old also told MTV that he is currently filming robot movie Pacific Rim in Toronto and later this year he will reprise his role as Heimdall in the eagerly anticipated sequel Thor 2.
