Cocoabella : The Runway

Cocoabella is brand new fashion line from brand new designer Adeola Onasanwo's. The first annual collection titled, The Runway was presented at The Bush Hall in Uxbridge.  An evening filled with fashion, comedy, dance and live music from world re-known African Drummers, Ayan De First and UK grime MC Giggs.  Host for the evening was UK's Prince of comedy Eddie Kadi, who provided a lot of laughs, tears and entertainment throughout the evening.

Cocoabella is a fashion and beauty brand inspired by African and popular culture. The line combined African prints and designs with a mixture of western haute couture.  This created a bespoke African couture line, a reflection of the multicultural society that surrounds us.  At the moment every item is custom made by hand and is ordered to individual requests. The models, also known as Cocoabellas were a breath of fresh air, each Cococabella had a distinct look which added to the variety of the show.

This evening was much more than just fashion, music and beautiful models.  Awareness for Sickle Cell Anemia was high on the propriety. A disease that is prominent among Africans and those of African descent, but a disease that not a lot of people know a great deal about.  It is short it is an inherited genetic disorder that produces crescent shaped red blood cells that result in anemia and blood cell clumping.  Proceeds of the night went towards continued Sickle Cell Anemia research.

Cocoabella's The Runway is a fashion line that reflects diversity of real women in every sense of the word.  Let's just hope that next year will be just as entertaining and informative.
