» Shyne Signs With Def Jam

The recently free Shyne is now getting on top of restoring his music career.

The 31-year-old, who was released from prison in August last year having served nine out of a 10-year sentence, is now back in the studio for the first time. He was jailed for ten years for his involvement in a nightclub shooting in 1999. The rapper was out with then-mentor P.Diddy and Diddy's then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez.

Many record labels showed a keen interest in the MC but Def Jam Recordings finally won the bidding war. Shyne is said to have signed a new seven-figure deal with the music label heavyweight.

Shyne previously released the album, Godfather: Buried Alive, with Def Jam but was allegedly unhappy with the lack of promotion the record was given leading to a fall-out with Def Jam big wig L.A Reid.
