Music News:
Keisha to Sue Sugababes
Keisha Buchanan is demanding a huge financial payout if the Sugababes continue with the band name – and she's willing to take the matter to court.
The 25-yearold singer, who was, until recently, the only original member of the group which started over a decade ago, has decided to sue the current line-up after she was kicked out last year. Keisha is credited with choosing the Sugababes name with fellow former member Mutya Buena. The High Court action will "send shockwaves through the industry," it has been claimed. Current members Jade Ewen, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will face an expensive legal battle to save their future.
"The Sugababes are one of the most successful girl bands of all time, but if they are forced to change their name, it would be absolutely disastrous for them," said a source.
"It would be very hard for them to maintain any credibility if they had no original band members and were called something else," they continued.
The ex-babe is expected to launch a solo career later this year.
